made a quick dash to the fader fort — cringeworthy bands on every corner, under every bridge…
caught some of smith westerns
scene was pretty chill.
odd future went down amidst some serious sun vibes. the fog machine helped too.
back at brave new books, toothache
toby aronson + toothache
DJ HTML 420 (aka marissa a. ross) in the building
marissa definitely brought the fun…
her dj set can be summed up in the transition from holy shit > lord tariq and peter gunz
it was an “intimate” show…
woodsman super on point.
party barn: drive through booze mart, picking up a keg for the party….
weird magic “glitter orgy” commence. with the artists running late, so we turned the lights off and the p.a. way up and lukies grabbed the mic and i put on jams the place instantly popped off into a rave
the girls danced. some even brought glowstix for the occasion.
nice touch with the light app, ron. 5 stars.
virgin mary steez
bk friends in full effect
labanna made all kinds of drink potions
tons of buzz bands showed up. should i have taken more photos of buzzbands that showed up? would that make me look cool, or have the opposite effect?
pictureplane to a packed sweaty room. fun fun

surprise guest #1 was big freedia. unfortunately, though, she couldn’t make it. but dj rusty lazer and her booty squad did…
but people didn’t seem to mind much…
al pal swag
you can see survive in the background setting up. poor guys tried for several hours, but due to gear malfunction, didn’t get to play : (
a lot of artists dropped off the bill or didn’t/couldn’t make it (won’t name names). as i learned, such is south by. but these dudes get credit for making a solid effort.
by this time, it was 6 am and people were retiring (aside from the above couple, of course). i put on “round and round” and everybody came together, and then alan palomo played some freshly-recorded/unmastered neon indian cuts off his ipod. sounded sick.
glitter orgy aftermath.
silliness all around.
alan gave us a sunrise tour of austin, sweeny video’d the whole thing
good morning austin.
