the knife – silent shout live

living in nyc, there is no need for a car, and we tend to forget how much fun it was to drive around with our friends bumping our favorite tunes. recently, we borrowed our buddy charlie poekel of chocolate bobka’s car and in the cd player was the knife‘s silent shout live album, which we literally couldn’t turn off. this live record, dare i say it, may have had more of an impact on me than the studio album. after hearing the live audio, i believe that the music was meant to be heard as a performance. the sound is so massive that it totally takes you away from your life and puts you in a deep, dark tunnel in which the knife is at the end, spewing out such emotive dance noise you cant help but give in to the pulse created by their music.

the knife – the captain (live)

the knife – forest families (live)

I got to agree, that the live version of “Silent Shout” has something more to it… I could never get tired of listening to any of their albums:)
